Meaney to star in football biopic

Colm Meaney will star in 'The Damned United', a biopic of legendary English soccer coach Brian Clough
According to Variety the €6.5 million film will be directed by Tom Hooper from a script by Peter Morgan.
The biopic will tell the dramatic story of controversial football manager Clough and his turbulent 44-day reign as the coach of Leeds United in 1974.
Michael Sheen, who played Tony Blair in 'The Queen', the previous collaboration between Morgan and Harries, is set to play Clough.
Tim Spall will take the role of his sidekick Peter Taylor, Jim Broadbent will be the chairman of Derby County and Meaney will play rival coach Don Revie and.
'The Damned United' is due to begin shooting on 25 May.
